Scientific Curiosity and Innovation Academy
"We don’t teach science. We let students discover it."
Give a child a textbook, they memorize for an exam.
Hand them wires, batteries, and a challenge — they invent for life.
Give curiosity the freedom to grow! SCIA brings the workshop and Camp to your campus, auditorium, or community hall. Students build, test, break, and rebuild. That’s how real learning sticks. SCIA’s intensive Science Workshops and Camps are mobile, high-energy learning labs designed to break down the walls of passive textbook learning. We transform complex physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and geography chapters into fast-paced, deeply engaging tactical challenges where students act as the principal investigators.
Low-Cost & No-Cost Materials • Hands-on Learning
Where Curiosity Meets Discovery
At SCIA, we believe that meaningful learning happens when students actively participate, ask questions, investigate possibilities, and learn by doing. Our workshops and camps transform ideas into experiences, helping students strengthen their knowledge, build essential skills, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Bring SCIA to Your Venue
SCIA brings hands-on learning to your institution or community, using simple materials, guided activities and practical investigations to transform available spaces into engaging learning environments.

Bring SCIA to your institution or community and turn curiosity into discovery.
Our Activity Themes
Our Regular Activity Classes are conducted across four interconnected themes: Experimental Science, Tangible Mathematics, Immersive Geography, and Nature Study & Environmental Exploration.
Across these themes, learners engage in practical activities that encourage observation, investigation, reasoning, interpretation and the development of evidence-based explanations.
🔬 Workshops
Focused learning experiences
Purpose: Explore a specific concept, topic, or skill.
Duration: Usually a short session or a few sessions for 1 - 2 days.
Activities: Guided experiments, model-making, demonstrations, and practical challenges.
Learning style: Focused, structured, and goal-oriented, curriculum based.
Outcome: A clearer understanding of a concept or a newly developed skill.
Example
Building a working Cartesian diver to understand pressure, buoyancy, and fluid behaviour.
🏕️ Camps
Extended, immersive learning experiences
Purpose: Explore a broader theme through interconnected activities.
Duration: Often multiple sessions across 3 - 4 days.
Activities: Experiments, outdoor exploration, collaborative projects, games, and creative challenges.
Learning style: Exploratory, collaborative, and project-based.
Outcome: Deeper understanding, practical skills, teamwork, and a broader learning experience.
Example
A multi-day science camp exploring air, water, forces, simple machines, and engineering through experiments and projects.
Structure of Workshops and Camps
SCIA World workshops and camps are designed to transform students from passive learners into active explorers, investigators, creators, and problem-solvers, where students explore scientific concepts, investigate their surroundings, collaborate with peers and develop their own ideas. The focus is on learning by doing, critical thinking, creativity and a deeper understanding of Science, Mathematics, Geography, Nature and the Environment. Through experiments, group activities, outdoor exploration, documentation, and presentations, students develop a deeper understanding of concepts while strengthening their practical skills, creativity, and scientific thinking.
Duration for workshops - A short session or a few sessions (usually 7 - 15 hours) for 1 - 2 days.
Duration for camps - Multiple sessions (usually 20 - 30 hours) for 3 - 4 days.
Group Size: 40–100 students, depending on the venue and programme.
Mentor Support: One mentor for approximately every 20 - 30 students, helping ensure that learners get opportunities to participate actively.
Learning Approach: 10% demonstration, 90% hands-on exploration—because every learner should get the opportunity to experiment, investigate and create, not just watch.
👥 Participants & Group Formation
40–100 Curious Minds: Each workshop or camp brings together approximately 40–100 enthusiastic learners.
Small Collaborative Groups: Students are organised into groups of 5–6.
🏫 Learning Space & Infrastructure
Spacious, Well-Ventilated Venue: A comfortable and safe space with sufficient room for students to conduct experiments and work in groups.
A writing board or display facility, where required.
Activity-Based Setup: Tables, chairs, benches and workstations.
Outdoor Learning Facilities: Access to a suitable outdoor space for nature study, environmental exploration, field observations, measurements, and real-world investigations.
Materials & Equipment: Appropriate experimental apparatus, activity kits, stationery, measuring tools. All are of low cost - no cost type.
Flexible Learning Zones: Designated areas for experimentation, documentation, group discussions, model-making, and presentations.
🏡 Theme-Based Experiments and Activities
Activities are selected according to the central themes of the programme:
Experimental Science,
Tangible Mathematics,
Immersive Geography,
Nature Study & Environmental Exploration.
📝 Worksheets, Record-Keeping & Activity Books
Activity Worksheets: Students complete worksheets containing questions, observations, measurements, predictions, and activity-related tasks.
Systematic Record-Keeping and activity book: Organise experimental results, field notes and measurements. Maintain a practical notebook / activity book containing activity titles and dates, procedures, labelled diagrams, observation tables, sketches, photographs where appropriate, explanations and conclusions, important learning points.
Record Ideas & Further Questions: Note new discoveries, unexpected results, possible improvements and questions for future investigation.
Reflect on Learning: Review activities, connect observations with underlying concepts and record personal reflections on what has been learned.
----- Records may be maintained collaboratively during group investigations, while each learner is encouraged to document individual observations and reflections. Over time, the activity book becomes a personal record of exploration, learning progress, developing scientific thinking and emerging ideas for future projects and innovations.
🤝 Group Activities & Peer Collaboration
Group activities provide opportunities for students to exchange ideas, solve problems collectively. Participants learn to listen to their peers, explain their reasoning, respect differing viewpoints, share responsibilities and work towards common goals.
Rotating group responsibilities: Rotate roles during a multi-day camp so that every student gets opportunities to conduct experiments, record observations, manage materials and present findings.
Development of New Ideas
Students are given opportunities to move beyond prescribed activities and think independently. They may modify an existing model, suggest a different experimental method.
Reflection
At the end of a day's programme, students are encouraged to share their experiences. They consider what they observed, what they understood, which questions remain unanswered and how their ideas changed during the investigation.
Presentation and Future Exploration
At suitable stages of the programme, students showcase selected investigations, models, observations, activity-book review, project exhibition and ideas developed during the programme collaboratively or in group. Presentations may take the form of demonstrations, posters, diagrams, group discussions, short talks, project displays or practical explanations.
Take Home
Workbooks containing conceptual summaries. The concept stays for life. Parents see learning, not just another worksheet.

Real Outcomes. Lasting Impact.
A student arrives thinking, “Science is difficult.” They leave asking, “When is the next workshop?”
That’s the shift from rote learning to real understanding—from memorising answers to exploring possibilities.
After a SCIA workshop, the question changes from “Will this be in the exam?” to “Can we try it another way?”
That curiosity is where innovation begins.
Our goal is simple: to help students become curious thinkers, confident experimenters, creative problem-solvers, and lifelong learners.
